YUZUGIN.
We call it YUZU GIN. This name, which plays on Japanese charactersused for the yuzu citrus and our distillery's home in Aburatsu, incorpo-rates our respect for the constant and plentiful blessings we receivefrom the land, and our pride in being able to provide the world with aproduct befitting this wonderful bounty. We use two vintages of potatoshochu, "Kameshizuku" [A Drop from the Pot] and "Sora to Kaze to Daichito" [Skye,Wind, and Earth].The distinct taste of beni satsuma, a red sweetpotato local to Miyazaki Prefecture, and the mellow flavor achievedthrough a method of preparation using large earthenware vessels toregulate the addition and removal of heat achieves a depth of taste notfound in conventional gin.
